PLANT HEALTH CARE / LAWN CARE TECHNICIAN
Peters – Todd’s Inc. is currently searching for a seasoned technician to join our growing team. Our Plant Health Care/Lawn Care Program is growing and looking for self-starter to help us reach and push beyond the next level. Looking for a multifaceted individual to execute all lawn care applications as well as recurring plant health care and mosquito sprays. Our technicians perform all functions including inspection/monitoring, spraying, fertilization, soil injections, trunk injections, sampling, air spade work, pesticide inventory, record keeping, minor equipment maintenance, clean-up/maintenance of pesticide storage area, and customer relations.
Responsibilities
Report for work on time each day, ready to work a full day. Be reliable and accountable.
Understands and adheres to label directions on each product used.
Effectively operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment
Utilizes and maintains all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Understands and practices the correct mixing and transportation procedures
Understands and practices appropriate plant health diagnostic skills
Understands and implements all required record keeping and on-line reporting procedures
Demonstrates correct pesticide container disposal techniques
Follows directions from crew leader or designated supervisor/arborist
Understands and follows directions on all work orders
Work as a member of a tree care or landscape crew, under the crew leader’s supervision when needed
Requirements
Degree in horticulture is preferred. Other combinations of training and/or experience that can be demonstrated to result in possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the assigned duties will also be considered
Prefer experience and will train accordingly
Passion for trees, shrubs, and the outdoors
Good tree and shrub identification skills
Possession of a New Jersey Pesticide Applicators License Core, 3a, 3b, 8b preferred
Good customer relation skills
Ability to work unsupervised

Full Job Description
The Todd Group is an award-winning landscape design-build firm specializing in the conceptualization and construction of unique, high-end outdoor spaces. We pride ourselves on quality, collaboration and the exchange of creative ideas within a fun and friendly, family-centric office setting. Our team is looking for a self-starting and detail-oriented individual with experience in high-end residential design to join our team.
Responsibilities may include:
Perform necessary site analysis, including research of local restrictions and regulations, and coordination of pre-design documentation
Collaborate with design team in preparation and management of presentation packages, support documentation, final landscape plans, construction documents, and material selections
Prepare cost projections at the conceptual design phase
Assist project management team with the preparation of permit packages and documentation
Communicate with project managers during the construction phase as needed
Manage time effectively, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet project deadlines and client needs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
2+ years minimum work experience in high-end residential design
Strong presentation graphics are required
Polished and exceptional written, verbal and graphic communication skills necessary to successfully convey design intent to existing and prospective clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Sketchup; knowledge of Sage 300 and On-Screen Takeoff is a plus
Estimating experience
Ability to solicit bids from qualified subcontractors and prepare subcontractor agreements
Working knowledge of northeastern plant materials
Experience in managing jobs profitably
Strong organization skills
Licensure in the state or working toward a licensure is desired, but not required
