• Provide a brief description of your project needs:
  • WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? :
This is the first step in developing a landscape program for your project. For example, you may write something like - “Busy family of 5 needs to renovate an aging rear yard space and new front walkway. Needs to include spaces for cooking, dining and relaxing. Would like a fire feature, outdoor lighting, and new plantings throughout.” From there, we may ask you follow-up questions about your design preferences (are you interested in a wood or gas burning fire pit, or fireplace?) family structure (how old are your kids?, do they play sports?, will they need a space for sports/activities?, do you have any pets?, etc.) and your lifestyle (how often to do you entertain?, how large are your parties on average?, etc.). All of this can be discussed during the initial call and meeting. Understanding those needs allows us to create a strategy and workflow that is customized to meet your specific needs.
  • WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? :
Determining a project budget early on helps inform many of the decisions made throughout the design process. Materials, finishes, plant material sizes and custom features can all affect the bottom line without necessarily adding square footage or functionality. Choosing materials, finishes, and sizes accordingly helps us streamline the design process and stay within your budget. In addition, we recommend building in a contingency allowance for unforeseen circumstances such as drainage, underground rock, and utility upgrades.
  • Have you ever worked with the following?
  • Existing Conditions Inventory (check all items that currently exist on your property):
  • WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? :
Land survey data is an indispensable, fundamental basis for every landscape design project. Having precise, scaled site information such as property boundaries, easements, utilities, existing structures hardscape features, and tree locations will help ensure your project design, budget, and implementation is as accurate as possible. Also, it is often a required element to any municipal permit package.
