Position Summary
We’re hiring an Enhancement Manager who will also provide Maintenance Management Support within our maintenance and enhancements division. This role is designed to strengthen the department by supporting day-to-day operations, helping identify and develop enhancement opportunities, and reinforcing quality, follow-through, and client service across existing accounts.
The right candidate will bring strong horticultural skills, excellent plant identification knowledge, and a good eye for design, composition, and plant combinations. This person should be comfortable both in the field and in the office, helping bridge plant knowledge, client needs, crew execution, and administrative coordination. Pest and disease knowledge is a strong plus.
This is an on-site position based out of our Far Hills location.
Key Responsibilities
1) Enhancement Sales & Project Support (Primary)
Identify and help develop enhancement opportunities within existing maintenance accounts.
Support the design and sale of small planting projects, seasonal color displays, container arrangements, and landscape improvements.
Prepare or assist in preparing proposals, material lists, and scopes of work for enhancement projects.
Coordinate plant and material sourcing with vendors and suppliers.
Assist with scheduling enhancement work and communicating priorities to field teams.
Support layout and installation oversight to ensure projects are executed properly and in line with design intent.
2) Maintenance Management Support (Primary)
Support the day-to-day management of the maintenance and enhancement division in partnership with department leadership.
Assist in coordinating crews, schedules, and production flow for maintenance-related work.
Participate in property walks to identify issues, opportunities, and quality concerns.
Help track open items, client requests, follow-up needs, and internal handoffs.
Assist in maintaining service quality across accounts through site reviews and team communication.
Help ensure work is completed thoroughly, efficiently, and to company standards.
3) Horticultural, Plant Health & Design Support
Apply strong horticultural knowledge to assess plant material, planting conditions, pruning needs, and overall landscape health.
Identify trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and ornamental grasses with confidence.
Assist in recognizing common plant stress, pest, and disease issues and communicate findings appropriately.
Make sound recommendations related to planting improvements, replacements, and seasonal interest.
Support proper plant selection and layout for enhancements and renovations.
Bring a strong visual sense for plant composition, layout, and design detailing in the field.
4) Client Communication & Account Support
Help serve as a responsive point of contact for maintenance and enhancement-related client needs.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding recommendations, proposals, scheduling, and follow-up.
Work collaboratively with crews, managers, procurement, and office staff to keep projects and service moving smoothly.
Support a polished, professional client experience consistent with company standards.
5) Administrative & Department Support
Assist with proposal preparation, work orders, reporting, and general documentation.
Support tracking of enhancement opportunities, awarded work, and pending client decisions.
Help maintain organized job information, notes, and communication records.
Contribute to process improvement, organization, and overall department efficiency.
Qualifications
Strong horticultural background required.
Strong plant identification knowledge required.
Landscape design ability and a good eye for composition, layout, and plant combinations required.
Experience in landscape maintenance, enhancements, estate gardening, or a related field preferred.
Pest and disease knowledge is a strong plus.
Understanding of pruning practices, plant care, and seasonal horticultural needs.
Ability to read landscape plans and assist with project layout preferred.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license required.
Work Style / Fit
Strong knowledge of high-end residential landscape maintenance and enhancements preferred. Comfortable working in a fast-moving service environment where quality, responsiveness, and follow-through matter. Must be able to walk properties regularly and support both field execution and office coordination.
